Sound familiar?

Three places people get stuck

I've got an idea but don't know what I need.

You know what you want to sell or offer. You don't know whether you need a website, a shop, a booking system or just a good email address, and everyone you ask has a different answer.

I built it with AI and it doesn't look like a business yet.

The prototype works. It still lives on someone else's preview link, with no proper domain, no security you can vouch for, and nothing a customer would trust with their card.

I sell on Etsy, eBay or Shopify and I want more say.

It works, but the shop looks like everyone else's, the platform sets the rules, and a slice of every sale goes to it.

The one promise

The keys are yours

Everything I build is set up in your name from day one. If you want to change it, run it yourself, or take it to someone else, you can, without asking me.

Your domain

Registered to you, not to me.

Your accounts

Hosting, payments and email are in accounts you own, and I'm added as a helper.

Your code and content

You get everything I build and write for you.

Your exit

Leave any time. Nothing is held back if you do.

What I do about it

A real business presence, set up properly

A professional site

Clear, fast and made for your product, not a template with your logo on it.

Your name everywhere

A domain and business email that match your brand.

Payments that work

A way to take orders or bookings that fits what you sell.

Found online

The basics done properly so search engines can find and understand you.

Room to grow

Set up so you can add products, pages or people later without starting again.

Your own store

Your own store, your own style, your own rules

Marketplaces are good at one thing: putting your product in front of people who are already shopping. Plenty of sellers keep a marketplace shop and also run their own store. This is what changes when the store is yours.

How a marketplace shop compares with a store you own
What mattersOn a marketplaceOn your own site
Look and feelYour shop sits inside the platform's layout, so it looks like everyone else's.Every page, colour and layout is yours.
CheckoutThe platform runs it and decides what you can change. On Shopify, advanced checkout customisation is limited to its top plan.I build a checkout that fits your product, using a payment provider you choose.
Fees on each salePlatforms take a cut: for example Etsy's transaction fee plus payment processing, eBay's per-order and final value fees, and Shopify's extra fee for using an outside payment provider. You pay your payment provider's processing fee and your hosting. No marketplace takes a cut.
Your addressYour shop lives on the platform's website.Your own domain, such as yourbusiness.com.au.
The rulesThe platform sets them and can change them. You set them.

Which one suits you depends on what you sell and where your customers already are. I'll tell you honestly if keeping the marketplace is the better call.

How it works

From first chat to handover

  1. A free conversation

Tell me what you're building. I'll ask questions before I suggest anything.

  2. A fixed quote

You get the scope and the price in writing before any work starts. No surprise charges.

  3. I build it in your name

Domain, hosting, payments and email, all in accounts you own.

  4. Handover

You get your logins, your files, and a plain-English walkthrough of how it all fits together.

  5. Optional: stay partnered

If you'd rather never think about it again, I keep it running and improving. If not, you're done.

Two ways to work

Launch it, then keep me on if you like

  • Launch

Get to market without learning the tech.

    • Your site or store
    • Domain and business email
    • Payments
    • The basics of search visibility
    • Handover with everything in your name
  • Partner (optional)

Never worry about your tech again.

    • Hosting, updates and fixes handled for you
    • Changes and additions as you grow
    • Regular suggestions for streamlining and automating how you work
    • Cancel any time, and you still own everything

Why work with me

One person who answers the phone

You deal with me, every time

No team, no call centre, no handover to someone who has never heard of you.

I look at the whole picture

I studied business analysis and information systems, and I've worked in web marketing, broadcast engineering, telecommunications and software development. I'm as interested in how your business runs as in how your site looks.

I'll tell you what you don't need

If a simpler option will do the job, that's what I'll recommend.

I'm upfront about my limits

I'm one person. If I'm unwell or away, things can pause, and I'd rather you know that now.

Questions

Straight answers

Do I need to be technical?

No. Explaining things in plain English is part of my job.

How much will it cost?

It depends on what you need, so I don't publish a price list. After a free conversation you get a fixed quote in writing, and nothing is charged beyond it without your say-so.

What if I already have a website or a shop?

Bring it along. I can improve what you have, build alongside it, or replace it, whichever makes more sense.

Can I keep my Etsy, eBay or Shopify shop?

Yes. Many people run a marketplace shop and their own store side by side.

What if I want to leave?

You can. Everything is in your name, so there is nothing to untangle.

What happens if you're unavailable?

I'm one person, so work can pause when I'm unwell or away. I'll tell you about any planned time off ahead of time, and because you own everything, you're never locked in.

Where are you based?

I'm based in the Hills District, NSW. Tell me where you are and what you need, and I'll tell you how I can help.

One thing to know

Your site may appear in my portfolio

You own everything I build for you. As part of my service, I show the finished sites in my portfolio, which can send extra visitors your way, because people browsing my work may click through to yours. If your project needs to stay private, tell me before we start and I'll leave it out. If you have any concerns about this, please raise them in our initial conversation.

Got an idea and no idea where to start?

That's a perfectly good place to begin. Tell me what you're building, and I'll tell you honestly what you need and what you don't.
